"I can’t say enough about A Silver Lining Foundation. Back in October, which is breast cancer awareness month, I kept thinking I really need to have a mammogram. It’s been quite a while since I had one. Being out of work for about a year, and having no insurance, I was determined to find someone, somewhere to help me with a low cost or no cost mammogram.

"In a few consecutive beautiful moments she confirmed not only was I now cancer free, but that I would not require either chemo or radiation treatments, and I could start a five-year drug therapy that would reduce my risk of reoccurrence back to that of the normal population. You see my cancer was found at Stage 0. In my annual mammogram.
When I informed Dr. Sandy that I was now not only one of her biggest supporters, but also a poster story for her "Buy a Mom a Mammogram" program her response was this:

They provide vital services to low-income women through partnerships with the city's 3-1-1 center, health organizations throughout Chicago and their signature "Buy a Mom a Mammogram" program. Program Coordinator Kathy Smith welcomes you to "volunteer at the health fairs we participate in, or staff the office." There's also an auxiliary board for young professionals.
