A Silver Lining Foundation Adds 9th Hospital to Free Mammogram Program Roseland Community Hospital Joins Forces with Foundationto Ensure Uninsured Women Receive Mammograms

For over ten years, A Silver Lining Foundation (ASLF) has been ensuring access and treatment options to underserved individuals affected by cancer. Now, ASLF is proud to announce their 9th partner hospital with the addition of Roseland Community Hospital to their Buy A Mom A Mammogram(r) Program which provides cost free exams, screening mammograms and diagnostic evaluation to uninsured individuals throughout the Chicago area. The major focus of this new partnership will be in Roseland and surrounding communities, areas of great need.

\"We are delighted to have Roseland Community Hospital join A Silver Lining Foundations\' Buy A Mom A Mammogram program. It\'s a valuable program with an ongoing effort to make sure everyone has access to the screening necessary to detect early signs of breast cancer,\" says Dr. Sandy Goldberg, founder and chairman of ASLF.

The Greater Roseland communities have the highest rate of breast cancer deaths in the Chicagoland area with 32-55 deaths per 1,000. \"This is an important partnership for the women and families in the Roseland area,\" continues Dr. Sandy. \"More individuals will have access to much needed resources, testing and breast health education.\"

With the addition of Roseland Community Hospital, ASLF has partnered with nine hospitals in the greater Chicagoland area and Rockford, dedicated to ensuring all members of the community receive quality care regardless of their ability to pay. The cost of a mammogram varies widely and generally includes a separate billing from the radiologist, making it unaffordable for many individuals. As the second leading cause of cancer in women, you can\'t be too safe when it comes to breast cancer awareness. A mammogram and diagnostic testing can be the difference in some women\'s (and men\'s) lives.

About A Silver Lining Foundation Founder and Chairman Sandy Goldberg created A Silver Lining Foundation in 2002 to ensure that socioeconomic status never affects an individual\'s ability to obtain information, timely cancer screenings and/or diagnosis. The mission of ASLF is to provide dignified, respectful and equal access to quality breast cancer education and services for all, by creating meaningful partnerships with community, advocacy and healthcare organizations.
