A Silver Lining Foundation hosts panel on breast cancer

Metastatic Breast Cancer 2015,” a panel discussion, was presented by A Silver Lining Foundation was Chicago’s Drake Hotel on June 6.

The free event, moderated by the Foundation founder Sandy Goldberg, addressed the topics of immunotherapy, hormone receptor positive disease, Her2 positive expression, triple negative disease and nutrition.

Panel members included: Dr. William J. Gradishar, Northwestern Medical Group and Director of the Maggie Daley Center for Women’s Cancer Care and Director of Breast Medical Oncology; Dr. Kathy Albain, of the Loyola — Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center, Hematology/Oncology; and Christine Rosandich, nutritionist at the Cancer Support Center. The event was sponsored by AstraZeneca and included a breakfast, panel discussion, support organizations providing information regarding metastatic disease, and goody bags for all attendees.

A Silver Lining Foundation was created to ensure that access to cost-free mammograms, timely cancer screening and diagnosis is available to everyone, regardless of income or insurance qualifications. ASLF, a Chicago-based non-profit organization, arranges free diagnostic tests for breast cancer at a dozen Chicago-area hospitals.
