A SILVER LINING FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH ADVENTHEALTH HINSDALE TO OFFER COST-FREE BREAST HEALTH TESTING
A Silver Lining Foundation adds 16th partner hospital to assist in advancing their mission.
CHICAGO, Illinois (July 1, 2022) A Silver Lining Foundation (ASLF) announced earlier today the addition of AdventHealth Hinsdale to the foundation’s Buy A Mom A Mammogram® program. Created in 2006, the program funds the entire spectrum of breast health testing to the uninsured and underinsured at no cost.
Co-founded by Dr. Sandy Goldberg and Greg Hines in 2002 after her own cancer diagnosis, ASLF was created on a vision of ensuring that socioeconomic status does not affect an individual’s ability to obtain timely breast health testing.
“In a time when access to healthcare is increasingly more complex – and the need for potentially lifesaving testing continues to increase – we are eager to lend support to the people and communities surrounding AdventHealth Hinsdale,” said Dr. Goldberg, CEO of ASLF. Dr. Goldberg added “Access to testing eases lives, early detection saves lives. We are honored to provide that silver lining to those in need and are delighted to add AdventHealth Hinsdale to our Buy A Mom A Mammogram® program providers.”
“Given the ongoing financial hardships continuing to face our communities post-pandemic, we are pleased to partner with A Silver Lining Foundation to provide this potentially lifesaving testing for people in need,” said Bela Nand, M.D., chief medical officer at AdventHealth Hinsdale. “We hope it will prompt individuals to pursue screenings they may have otherwise had to delay given the economic impact of COVID-19 and other factors.”
With the addition of AdventHealth Hinsdale hospital, ASLF now works with 16 partner hospitals throughout the greater Chicagoland area, Rockford, and Elgin.
