ASLF Welcomes Wendelyn (Wendy) Mitchell Gill as New Executive Director

The Board of Directors of ASLF is delighted to announce the appointment of Wendelyn (Wendy) Mitchell Gill as our new Executive Director, effective September 15, 2025.

Wendy joins ASLF with a rich background in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and organizational development. Throughout her career, she has led transformative initiatives that have strengthened programs, built meaningful partnerships, and deepened community impact. Most recently at La Casa Norte, Wendy led implementation of the organization’s annual gala in just four months—bringing in increased corporate sponsors and individual giving—making it the most successful fundraiser in the organization’s 20-year history.

Her leadership extends well beyond fundraising. Wendy has cultivated lasting donor relationships, strengthened organizational infrastructures, expanded brand visibility and reach, and partnered with boards to advance mission-driven growth. She is especially known for her collaborative, people-centered leadership style–prioritizing trust, empowering teams, and aligning strategy with values.

“Wendy brings the energy, experience, and vision that will guide ASLF into its next chapter,” said Beth Witczak, Chair of the ASLF Board of Directors. “We are confident she will continue to build on ASLF’s strong foundation while advancing our mission and expanding our impact.”

Wendy follows in the footsteps of our beloved co-founder and longtime Executive Director, Dr. Sandy Goldberg, who will retire at the end of 2025 after decades of extraordinary service. Dr. Sandy will continue to be a guiding presence during the transition, ensuring continuity and a smooth hand-off.
