Bandits announce A Silver Lining Foundation as Official Charity Partner for 2016 season

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Chicago Bandits have announced that A Silver Lining Foundation (ASLF), located in Chicago, Ill., will be the team’s new Official Charitable Partner for the upcoming 2016 season.

Since 2002, the mission of ASLF has been to provide equal access to quality cancer education and services for all regardless of their socioeconomic status through five main programs including the popular “Buy a Mom a Mammogram” program. Over 10,000 women have received access to a cost-free screening mammogram and diagnostic testing when indicated since the program was established in 2006. The foundation funds free testing at 15 partner hospitals in the greater Chicagoland, Elgin and Rockford areas.

Additional programs provided by ASLF include:

“A Silver Lining Foundation is delighted to become a partner with the Chicago Bandits,” said Dr. Sandy Goldberg, Founder and Chairman of ASLF. “This partnership will increase awareness of the Foundation – in particular our free mammography program. The support and commitment of the Chicago Bandits will certainly provide uninsured and underinsured women and men with information necessary to obtain free breast health testing.

“We are grateful to the Chicago Bandits and look forward to meeting players, fans and most of all to provide silver linings!” To show their support for ASLF, the Bandits will be donating all the proceeds from this year’s “Pass the Bucket” promotion to A Silver Lining Foundation. In addition, the Bandits will be holding a Cancer Awareness Night during the 2016 season, which will feature a jersey raffle to raise additional funds for ASLF. Additional details regarding Cancer Awareness Night will be released at a later date.

The Bandits and ASLF will also host one family per home game to come out to The Ballpark at Rosemont to watch the 2015 NPF Champions in action. Families who have benefitted from the services provided by ASLF will be chosen by the Foundation to come out to a game for a fun-filled night.

“The Bandits are very excited about the new partnership with Dr. Goldberg and A Silver Lining Foundation,” said team GM Aaron M. Moore. “We have had great success with our charitable partners in the past and we believe our fans will be excited about this opportunity to assist and learn about the foundation.

“We’ve had people in our organization directly impacted by breast cancer, so we felt this was a perfect fit for us. We’re excited about the 2016 jersey auction and pass the bucket and we’re looking forward to partnering with such a great cause.” For more information about A Silver Lining Foundation, visit asilverliningfoundation.org or call 312-345-1322.
