Community Foundation of Northern Illinois Supports Chicago-Based Breast Cancer Organization

A Silver Lining Foundation Awarded $25,000 Grant to Serve Rockford Area

A Silver Lining Foundation (ASLF) is thrilled to announce they are the recipient of a $25,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois. Funds received from the generous grant will support and expand ASLF’s Buy A Mom A Mammogram® program in the Rockford area. Buy A Mom A Mammogram® which provides access to the entire spectrum of breast health testing to uninsured and underinsured individuals.

“We are very thankful to the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois for selecting our invaluable program as a recipient of their 2014 grant,” says Dr. Sandy Goldberg, Founder and Chairman of ASLF. “Every woman and man deserves the opportunity to be screened for breast cancer and this grant will ensure individuals in the greater Rockford community have the resources they need, regardless of socioeconomic status.”

The foundation was launched in 2002 and has provided cancer resource information, cost-free breast health testing and support to thousands of individuals in the greater Chicagoland and Rockford areas. The grant will support the Buy A Mom A Mammogram program at Rockford Memorial Hospital.
