Ensuring Access and Treatment Options to Under-served Individuals Affected by Cancer
Glitz & Glamour returned to the Peninsula Chicago on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, in-person and stylish as ever! A sold-out crowd enjoyed this always-spectacular luncheon and fashion show spotlighting the elegant jewels of A. Marek Fine Jewelry and featuring custom couture from celebrated Chicago fashion designers Contessa Bottega, Peach Carr, Ann Everett, Al Menotti, Mira, Model Atelier, Elda de la Rosa and Sylwia.
Lending their support as runway models were local celebrities Susanna Homan, CEO, PAWS Chicago; Candace Jordan, Associate Publisher, Chicago Star Media; Micah Materre, Anchor, WGN Evening News; Susana Mendoza, Comptroller, State of Illinois; Whitney Reynolds, Host, The Whitney Reynolds Show; LeeAnn Trotter, Entertainment/Lifestyle Reporter, WMAQ – NBC 5; Roz Varon, Traffic Anchor, ABC 7 Chicago; and Caylei Vogelzang, Founder, Cancer Wellness Magazine.
Event proceeds benefitted A Silver Lining Foundation (ASLF) and its mission to provide respectful and equal access to cost-free breast health testing. “We’ve seen a 30 percent increase in the number of women requesting our help to access breast health testing,” said Dr. Sandy Goldberg, CEO and co-founder of A Silver Lining Foundation. “The ongoing impact of the pandemic combined with unyielding inflation has been devastating in the communities we serve.”
The proceeds of this year’s Glitz & Glamour will fund 250 screening mammograms.
