ICEHOGS PRESENT $20,000 TO SWEDISHAMERICAN HOSPITAL AND A SILVER LINING FOUNDATION

Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs presented a $20,000 check to Swedish American Hospital and A Silver Lining Foundation during a special ceremony at Swedish American Heart Hospital on Thursday afternoon. Right wing Ryan Hartman was on hand to present the check on behalf of the IceHogs.

The funds were raised during Rockford’s Pink in the Rink game at the BMO Harris Bank Center on Jan. 16 as the IceHogs collected a 3-0 win over the Stockton Heat. The IceHogs wore special pink jerseys during the contest, and two of those jerseys were raffled to fans during the game. The remainder of the jerseys were available to purchase through silent auction, while center Tanner Kero and former Chicago Blackhawks and IceHogs forward Marko Dano’s jerseys were available through online auction on eBay.

The IceHogs have hosted a Pink in the Rink game in each of their last seven seasons, and with the inclusion of the $20,000 raised this season, the IceHogs and their generous fans have helped raise over $150,000 for local charities benefitting breast cancer research and awareness through the event.

Proceeds to A Silver Lining Foundation will help fund up to 74 mamogram screenings for women in the Rockford area that are not able to afford regular check-ups.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Mar. 19 vs. Chicago Wolves at 7 p.m. The IceHogs conclude a home-and-home series with the Wolves at the BMO Harris Bank Center on Country Night presented by Dusty Boots Saloon. The band South 40 will be playing country music throughout the night.
