These three, all top producers at Fifth Third Bank, posing in front of the Fifth Third Center at Adams and Canal in Chicago, have enjoyed the combination of experience, great referrals and business partners for many years.
“While we are not a team per se, we work together very well and are always happy to do whatever it takes to ensure one another’s clients are satisfied,” says Senior Loan Officer Tony Lupescu. “At the end of the day, we all know what is going on collectively in our office, allowing for quicker response time and consistent customer service.”
Randy Thomas, the area sales manager and 15-year industry veteran, says working for a company like Fifth Third has made all the difference.
“A significant turning point in my professional life was watching my business suffer because I was at a lesser mortgage company,” Thomas says. “I almost left the industry because of my experience there, even after I had consecutively closed over $120 million each year. Luckily, Fifth Third restored my faith.”
Lupescu, the No. 1 producer at Fifth Third in the entire country for both purchase and total volume, agrees, and credits his success to great partners as well as his experience as a CPA. “I enjoy being able to take a very intricate tax return and decipher what can be used for qualifying purposes,” he says.
Robert Curtis is very active within the community, and is well known for speaking for various industry associations and organizing homebuying seminars. “I pride myself on providing a high level of proactive communication to all parties throughout the transaction. I work to ensure that I earn and keep the trust of all involved,” Curtis says.
“Joining Fifth Third made me realize I wanted to do something bigger than myself,” Thomas adds. “I wanted to give back as much as I could in terms of ideas, knowledge and leadership. The mortgage business can be very lucrative, but money is only a by-product of doing what you have a passion for in service of others. The three also give back to the community, and recently chaired Tasting Stars, an event benefiting the breast cancer organization A Silver Lining Foundation.
